Sherwood Slammed Again

Sherwood Ohio was again in the wrath of
Mother Nature's furry as storms rolled through the area Sunday evening.
Storms came through Sherwood about 6pm dumping more rain on already
saturated ground. Straight line winds of better than 80mph caused
downed tree limbs, and power lines. The entire Village was in the dark.
Several people in town reported flooded basements, downed trees and power
lines and a good washing. Flood waters closed St.Rt.18, Rolland Rd., south
of town there was better than 18" of water holed up at the entrance of the
ballpark slowing traffic on U.S.127. Sherwood Ohio slammed again!
Although the flood results were not
as bad as
the
storm a year ago, for some, the results were the same. Village Pizza on
the north end of town was taking on water, TC and Sons sat with their pant
legs rolled up, ready for action, as flood waters crept up in the Super
Center, Heritage Dr. in the Sherwood Crossing Development was also flooded,
the Methodist Church had to be pumped out with aid from the Sherwood Fire
Department, as well as several others, mine
included. Looked like the wind damage was more on the south side of town and
water everywhere. Most power in the Sherwood area was restored by 9 pm, but
a few others had to wait till the limbs could be removed from power lines. Sure hope this doesn't become a habit. Take a look at the
photos and you decide.
