Dear Community Member:
You may have read or heard about the efforts underway to build a
new community playground at the old school grounds in Sherwood.
The playground will be a great addition to and a wonderful gift
to the children in our community. We have partnered with Play
Mart Playgrounds to draw up plans for a wonderful new playground
for our neighborhood. The equipment is made out of recycled milk
jugs. The playground is ADA approved and will provide many years
of sturdy and safe play for our children. The total estimated
project will cost around $60,000. We will be raising money
through fundraisers as well as community donations. We are
getting close to our goal and have raised approximately $46,650.
The playground will be located at the old Sherwood Elementary
school grounds. The land has been donated by the Village of
Sherwood. The Sherwood Community Playground will be nestled in a
centrally located, open area of Sherwood, making it easily
accessible, safe and family friendly. The addition of a
playground to this facility will only enhance the Town’s
obligation to meet its community’s diverse recreational needs.
On behalf of the Sherwood Community Playground Committee we
would like to solicit your help to make this dream a reality. We
hope that you can find it within your means to support our
cause.
With the help of everyone this dream will come true; the secret
is to get the entire community on board. No donation is too
small and none too great. Any donation will be greatly
appreciated. All village patron, bronze, silver and gold
donations will be recognized on a plaque to be erected at the
playground. (See donation levels at the bottom of the sheet.)
We are also looking for a donor that may be interested in naming
rights. We will take pledges of interested donors and trusts
interested in naming the new park. Our committee members would
love to discuss this with you further if you are interested.
