This year's Sherwood Shamrock Day will be held on Saturday, March 15th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the VFW.  Sherwood's newly reorganized park board has designated the funds raised from the event for renovations at Moats Park.  The board is working to raise $2,500 for materials to re-roof the main shelter house and kitchen.  The roof will be installed by volunteers.

The Sherwood Area Lions and the Friends of the Sherwood Library are helping host the event which will feature Patty's Potato Bar, Danny Boys' Dessert Bar, and  Blarney Beverages all for a free will donation.  Take-out will be available.  Area resident, Dawn Buskirk, has coordinated local talent who will perform.  In addition a Lucky Leprechaun 50/50 drawing will be held that evening.

For those wishing to acquire a piece of Sherwood memorbilia, recently replaced village street signs will be available at the event.  Single signs are $12.50 each and a complete set of four on the original mount is $40. Proceeds will be applied to park renovations.

Lucky Leprechaun tickets are available from park board members, Mayor Glen Vance, Village Administrator, Mike Walker, at the Sherwood Branch Library and at the Sherwood State Bank.  The Sherwood Park Board members encourage everyone to support and participate in helping develop and maintain our community parks.

Sherwood Community Park Board member Lynn Wonderly and Village Administrator Mike Walker discuss the sale of recently replaced village street signs.
