Never a dull moment in Sherwood, today, at about 1 o'clock, two people
with a stolen vehicle out of Van Wert decided to use Sherwood as an
escape route only to find themselves out smarted by the local law
enforcement. Now as we all
know there are only so many avenues out of Sherwood. State Troopers and
the Defiance County Sheriffs had cornered the suspects on East Lawrence
street when the suspects, one female and one male ditched the stolen car
in the empty lot behind the State Bank and took off on foot.
The suspects headed east down the railroad tracks with officers
and there dogs in hot pursuit.
The female suspect was apprehended after about a quarter mile chase down
the tracks. The male suspect continues to elude local authorities as of
4 o'clock today. The Sheriffs office called in life flight for aerial
support but
 have
yet to locate him. A call to the Sherwood Police Department tells us
that the male suspect is possibly black or Hispanic, 5'6" or 5'7" in
height, last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tennis
shoes.
If you think you have spotted the suspect, please call the local
authorities, do not take matters in to your own hands, I will keep you
updated.
