Crystal Fountain Fall Festival

Did
you catch the fest this weekend? Sherwood celebrated it's first fall fest,
Crystal Fountain Fall Festival, last Saturday. This is the first of what some
hope to replace the Sherwood Homecoming with, drawing more than 500 people
through out the day with the many of events that were planned.
The
Craft show started bright and early with about 25 vendors offering many fall
crafts, jewelry, Christmas items, tee-shirt painting and more. The Pie auction
was also a huge success with some pies selling for more than $25.
All
proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Sherwood Community playground
fund. This will be a new playground built at the old school grounds next to the
Sherwood Cemetery. I have been told construction will begin in the spring on the
playground.
Other events found through out the day were several food vendors selling pork
sandwiches, French fries, salads, BBQ, a costume contest and parade, bingo,
musical entertainers, pumpkin carving, dance demonstrations and more. A chili
dinner was served at 5pm and rounding out the evening was a hay ride that took
visitor on a 30 minute ride around our town.
A
beautiful day filled with sunshine and a great turnout made this event worth
doing again next year, see you then!
