Sherwood Newsletter March 29, 2004
Edition #5
Spring has sprung and with spring comes a flurry of activity around this town. Time to clean up the yards, put the snow shovel away, tune up the lawn mowers, and get ready for another Ball season at Moats Park.
Ah yes, baseball, hotdogs, and chicken sandwiches. I know that's not quite how it goes but if you have eaten at the Moats Park concession stand during ball season, you know what I mean. Baseball season is just around the corner for Moats Park. I am looking to put together some pages this season. What I am looking for is some information on the your ball game times, schedules, rosters, results from around the area.
The information you send will be posted at The Sherwood Ohio Summer Ball News, you will find links to this page on the home page for Sherwood Ohio.com, among a few other place, so lets play Ball.
Back to the clean up, Sherwood usually has a clean up day where dumpsters and recycling bins are brought in so the residents of sherwood may get rid of their unwanted trash. At the town council meeting in march, it was not decided yet whether the clean up day would again be in the spring, or be moved to the fall. Anyway they go, I will let you know when the clean up will be. Myself, I believe the spring would be a better time.
On March 17th a committee was formed to plan the revitalization of the Sherwood Memorial Park, the pond area south of the cemetery. A Fundraising Kick-off is under way, the entire community is invited and encouraged to save aluminum cans until May 8, 2004. On that Saturday a hopper wagon will be located in the parking lot, in front of the pond, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Volunteers will be on hand to receive and process the cans. For more information and updates to this project can be found at Sherwood Memorial Park.
Along with spring comes the Easter bunny. The Sherwood Lions Club will be sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt for children up to second grade on April 3 at 10 am. This will be held at the Moats Park Shelter house. Mark your calendars!

Village council is again in discussions about a village income tax and approved an ordinance authorizing a partnership agreement with the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). You can read more about the village income tax at the sherwood news link . If you wish to give your opinion on the new income tax being discussed, you may post-it at the Sherwood discussion forums.
Sherwood Crossing News - The condominiums that are being built on the north end of town have made much progress since last report in January. The roof is on along with the siding, windows and doors. I am sure we will see some pavement and landscaping before spring is over. I believe there are 8 units here and more to come.
