September 1, 2003 Sherwood News-Letter
Sorry for the delays in this project, Sherwood news letter, Edition 1.
Seems like things are a little slow out to the Sherwood Crossing project, with the housing side that is, ground has been to wet for much work. Looks like they are still in the first stages of drainage and grade, if they are lucky they might see some concrete before the snow flys. As far as the strip mall goes, they are filling up. Figaro's Pizza, Butler Mohr Realestate, Unemployment Offices are all open now. County Commisioners will be looking into the possibility of installing bigger drainage tiles on the north end. This will help channel some of the water away that collects in the Crossing area after heavy rains. Preliminary hearings have been set for later this month to investigate the fessability and cost of this project, more at a later date.
City Council is again looking into a village income tax of 1%, no legislation has been adopted yet, but I am sure it will become a reality. Other items addressed at august meeting were --agreed to buy the old school property for $1 from the Central Local Schools --- ask that anyone interested in becoming a volunteer fire fighter to call Steve Fitzwater (Fire Chief ) at 419-899-4560 --- next council meeting is set for September 10, 2003 at 6 p.m.
Ney Oil Co., the Sherwood service center will be closing at the end of September.
I have added another domain for Sherwood Ohio, www.sherwoodohio.com . Those of you that signed up for the sherwood news-letter will get first crack to check out this site. Some of the info from my sherwood directory has been carried over to this domain. Added features our sherwood chat, sherwood forums, national news, sherwood classifieds, and more fun stuff. Take a look around and let me know what you think. Please excuse the mess in some areas for we are still about 2 weeks away from going live.
